Just in: PDP’s Oborevwori is Delta State next Governor after Okowa

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) standard-bearer, Sheriff Oborevwori, as the winner of the just-concluded governorship election in Delta State.

Oborevwori defeated Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to set the stage for his swearing in on May 29, this year, as the successor to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

According to the final official declaration made on Monday, Oborevwori polled 360,234 votes, while Omo-Agege trailed behind with 240,229.

Labour Party’ s candidate, Pela, on the other hand, came a distant third with 48,047 votes.
