Emeka Ihedioha has just joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ahead of November 2023 election in Imo State, according to sundry media reports.

This is coming against the backdrop of his recent withdrawal from tje guber primary poll of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Reports said that this was one of the options before the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.

He would have headed for the Labour Party, LP, but for the opposition by some key players along with “Obidients” who were opposed to the initial move to join Labour Party.

ENigeria Newspaper said that Ihedioha met with heavy resistance from Obidients who practically tore him to shreds over his derogatory comment in a video that trended online.

Supporters of Peter Obi upon getting hints of the moves by Emeka Ihedioha reportedly mobilized to resist the former Deputy Speaker; citing the betrayal from him by particularly campaigning against Labour Party and Peter Obi as well as working against them during the just-ended presidential election in the state.

After several failed negotiations and persuasions, the embattled former lawmaker was advised to join APGA, which he reportedly did.

But he has yet to formally and personally confirm his move to APGA.

A source hinted that since the resignation of Iyocha Ayu, “things have not remained the same in PDP as loyalists of the embattled Chairman are not a target of the new head honcho, Umar Iliya Damagum.”

Ihedioha may be projecting to emerge as the candidate of the coalition of forces that is being planned by the opposition parties in the state to unseat Governor Hope Uzodinma. (E-Nigeria)
