Just in: Akeredolu Resumes Officially, Writes Assembly

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, resumed his official duties on Friday, earlier than Monday, next week, which sources close to him had hinted about.

The governor communicated his resumption via a letter to the State Legislature.

His resumption came after his three-month medical vacation in Germany.

The letter was received on Friday during the Parliamentary meeting of the House.

The governor, according to the letter resumed duty on Friday, 8th September, 2023.

The Speaker of House, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji disclosed this in a statement.

The statement partly read, “Receiving the letter on behalf of other lawmakers, the Speaker of the House, Rt.Hon.Olamide Oladiji said the Governor’s action is in line with Section 190(1)of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).”

Oladiji, according to the statement issued by his office, expressed appreciation to God for bringing the Governor back home hale and hearty.

He was quoted to have said the entire people of Ondo State were glad to see him (the governor) back in office.

“It would be recalled that in the Governor’s letter of 4th June,2023, he had informed of his proceeding on medical leave and later extended it on 4th July,2023.

“The Governor in his letter, expressed gratitude to the Lawmakers for their good wishes,” the statement quoted the speaker to have said.
