Veteran journalist and fiery rights activist, Comrade Tony Erha, has released a six-track musical and video album, entitled ‘Wahala’, into the Nigerian, African and global entertainment scenes.

The album is a buffed Root Rock genre of Reggae rendition, featuring three tracks in English and others in his Edo language.

Already, three of the songs, Wahala (Crisis), Judgment Day and Obosa (the Hands of God), backed with video recordings, are already enjoying lavish airplay on television, radio and social media, across the world.

“Wahala:, the main track, is a critique of the social condition, poverty and unrests, mostly in African nations, especially Nigeria, the artiste’s home country.

“Judgement Day” is a condemnation of the killings and maiming of humans, thus reminding all that culprits wouldn’t go unpunished.

Obosa is a thanksgiving to the Lord God for safe-guarding “people who are just”

The Judgement Day’s music-video, significantly pays tributes to Martin Luther King Jnr, Black American social crusader, Thomas Sankara, Burkinabe’s leader, John Magufuli, Tanzanian leader, who are believed to have been killed for their revolutionary ideals.

Ken Saro Wiwa, Ogoni-born environmental crusader and writer, Dele Giwa, Nigerian journalist, Oronto Douglas, lawyer and environmental activist and Chima Ubani, civil rights activist, who are also late, were similarly portrayed.

In the “Judgement Day” track, featuring Oligbese 4 Sale, a Canada-based Nigerian artiste, a glowing tribute is also paid to the late Edo State, Nigerian-born Captain Hosa Okunbo, a billionaire businessman and exceptional care-giver, whose demise three years ago, has thrown Nigerians and mankind into intense mourning.

All six tracks, including “Nature’s Ways”, “Osayomore” and “Ikponmwosa”, are reminiscences of Erha’s ventures and experiences in journalism, writing, philosophy and living.

Erha was a young performing artiste in the FESTAC 1977 and former Secretary of the Bendel State chapter of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN). He is Founder/President, Forum for African Renaissance and Reggae Revival (FA-R3)
