President-elect Joe Biden has ordered an “exorcism” of Donald Trump’s administration in the White House over fears coronavirus may have lingered on surfaces.
Mr Biden is said to have ordered a deep clean of the mansion in Washington DC after the outgoing president and several members of his circle tested positive for Covid-19.
A team in hazmat suits will spray the 55,000 square ft residence with disinfectant after Trump leaves in January.
With the virus having the potential to stick to surfaces for prolonged periods, carpets, curtains and furniture will all be replaced by the incoming administration.
Mr Biden is set to move in with his family in January after wiping out his Republican opponent in the November 3 election.
It comes as the US hit its record of coronavirus deaths as they neared 300,000 on Saturday. (Mirror)
