The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed as false a widely circulated result slip claiming that a candidate from Cross River State scored 394 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The alleged result, shared on X by a user identified as @Onsogbu, stated that a female candidate, Okon Winniefred Sampson, achieved an almost perfect score of 394 out of 400. The breakdown attributed 96 to Use of English, 99 to Biology, 98 to Chemistry, and 99 to Physics.

However, JAMB, through its spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin, refuted the claim in a statement issued on Sunday, describing the result as entirely fabricated.

He explained that UTME results are currently designed to be view-only and not meant for printing or circulation in the format seen online. According to him, the document being shared does not match the Board’s official result template.

Benjamin also pointed out that the registration number on the slip does not align with JAMB’s system-generated format, noting that the pattern displayed on the fake result is inconsistent with the Board’s standards.

He added that several discrepancies on the document clearly indicate it is not genuine.

JAMB therefore urged the public to ignore the viral result and rely solely on its official communication channels for accurate and verified information, reiterating that all UTME results remain view-only for now.
