Internal wrangling: Security operatives seal up IBB Golf Club Abuja

The elite IBB Golf Club Abuja has been sealed by the security operatives.

Report said that the golf club was sealed on Saturday due to internal wranglings involving some members

The action was allegedly instigated by some powerful members to disrupt a general meeting scheduled for 3 pm on Saturday.

It had yet to be ascertained, as of publication time, who invited the security agents to the club.

However, a statement by the Captain of the club to all members, gave an inkling into what might have led to the seal up.

The statement reads in extenso:

“15th March 2025

“Dear Esteemed Members of

IBB International Golf and Country Club,
Abuja

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE CAPTAIN

“Today for the first time in the history of IBB International Golf and Country Club we have faced an unfortunate and unexpected incident, due to the actions of a tiny minority with vested interest Security agencies have moved to seal our Club in attempt to disrupt our scheduled Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) @ 3:00pm.

“As a law abiding membership Club, we remain committed to following due process.

“We are engaging with our members, urging everyone to remain calm and assuring that all necessary legal steps will be taken to ensure that the process of filling the Board of Trustees (BOT) vacancies is conducted correctly.

“Despite the attempts to derail this process, we remain steadfast in upholding the integrity and governance of our Club.

“We will not relent in our efforts to ensure that fairness, transparency and due process prevail. I encourage all members to stay calm and await further updates as we navigate this situation.

“Be rest assured [sic] that we will keep you informed as developments unfold.

“Thank you for your continued support and trust as we work toward necessary reforms for the betterment of Our Club.
