INEC chairman promises agency’s readiness to conduct free, fair governorship election in Osun

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that all is set for the agency to conduct free and fair governorship election come July 16 in Osun State.

The INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu made this known on his official visit to the state ahead of the election.

According to Yakubu, “we are here on readiness assessment of the commission to conduct the election on the 16th of July 2022 and also to visit some designated centres while we are doing a mock accreditation exercise.

“In this particular centre, we achieve 100 per cent success for all those who presented themselves for accreditation so far.

“Next week, I will be back in the state again to meet with stakeholders, then there would be signing of peace accord under the auspices of National Peace Committee, so that is our mission of seen us now”.

The INEC chairman was accompanied by the top officials of the commission, including the Resident Electoral Commissioner in charge of Osun State, Prof Abdulganiy Raji, among others.
