Residents of Ipetumodu in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State, heaved a sigh of relief Monday as the Apetumodu of Ipetumodu, Oba (Prof) Joseph Oluwafunminiyi Olugbenga Oloyede, Latimogun 1, inaugurated five boreholes.
During the official inauguration of the boreholes, the Apetumodu, who was highly elated, charged the beneficiaries to use the boleholes judiciously.
The traditional ruler, who also enjoined the affected residents to maintain the borehole in their respective communities in order to avert epidemic, commended the efforts of the Ipetumodu Development Forum (IDF) towards the development of the ancient community.
Oba Oloyede, who used the medium to commend the efforts of Governor Gboyega Oyetola in transforming the state, said it is very imperative for every community to join hands with the government in developing their various areas as government cannot do it alone “while we should not continue folding our hands watching them doing everything for us.”
The Apetumodu also advised the entire IDF members home and abroad to continue to strive harder towards the uplifting of Ipetumodu saying “in order to be a mega city of our dream”.
The IDF Vice-Chairman, Barr.Banji Akinloye who represented Elder Taiwo Oyetade in his welcome address at the inauguration appreciated the Apetumodu’s efforts in transforming the entire community as well as members of the IDF at large.
“Our Kabiyesi has been doing well to ensure that our community is competing with others, his complete efforts cannot be overemphasized and I want other monarchs to emulate him”, Akinloye added.
The communities that benefited from the borehole according to the IDF Vice-Chairman, includes, Odo-Oba, Sooko, Abelebo and Oruku Compounds while appreciated both the IDF Otunba Abiola and AG Industries
Other IDF members at the event were Anthony Adetoro, Prince Debo Lawal, Kehinde Oyetunmbi, IDF General Secretary, Dr Bisi Okunade, Engr Kazeem Afolabi, IDF Social Secretary and Prince Adebamiji Ojuade, among others.
