Ilorin man remanded for allegedly stabbing two persons to death

One Habeeb Abdulganiyu, has been remanded in Oke-Kura Correctional Centre, Ilorin, for allegedly stabbing two persons to death.

Police arraigned the defendant on a one-count charge of Culpable Homicide for acting contrary to Section 221 of Penal Code Law.

The victims were simply identified as Lukman and Kudus.

Earlier, the prosecuting police officer, Funsho Zacheaus, told the Magistrates’ Court that Abdulganiyu stabbed the victims for separating him from fighting his friend, Abdullateef Abdulrazaq, over a certain sum of money.

Zacheaus stated that Abdulganiyu went home to get a knife and could not find his friend when he got to the fighting scene at Adifa Area, Ilorin.

The defendant, however, stabbed Lukman and Kudus whom he found at the scene on the neck leading to their death.

The prosecutor urged the court to remand the defendant in the correctional centre pending completion of investigation.

Magistrate Abraheem Bello adjourned the matter till June 28 for further mention.
