Edo State House of Assembly candidate on the platform of the All Progressives congress (APC), Hon. Osamwonyi Atu, has reiterated his commitment to give account of his legislative stewardship to the people of Orhionmwon East constituency, annually, if elected.
Speaking during a media chat, the former Commissioner for EDSOGPADEC, argued that it was wrong for political office holders to remember their constituents only during electioneering without rendering account and what they had done for the people in terms of legislation and projects attracted in the past.
He frowned at a situation where some politicians were only interested in getting votes of voters and then disappeared afterwards and reappeared during another election.
He said that such must come to an end as power belonged to the people.
Atu assured his constituents that help was on the way after a temporary dark period.
He noted that he would attract project, and engage in impactful legislation, with zero excuses for failure when he eventually “becomes member of the state House of Assembly.”
