Ikoyi-Osun residents commend Oyetola for setting up Magistrate Court

The Olukoyi of Ikoyi land in Isokan South Local Council Development Area of Osun State, Oba Yisau Bantale Oyetunji Otunla, Kodaolu 1, has commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the state for the provision of a Magistrate Court for the benefit of Ikoyi community.

The Olukoyi made this commendation during the inauguration of the Magistrate Court by the Chief Judge of the state, Hon. Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo.

Oba Otunla, who was highly elated, said Governor Oyetola had proved himself as the people’s governor by approving the court for them while urging him not to hesitate in approving the establishment of a High Court in Ikoyi whenever they request for it among other development projects towards the betterment of the people of the area.

The traditional ruler however warned the entire residents of Ikoyi not to forment trouble, urging them to desist from any act that may lead them into trouble while they should always parade themselves as a law abiding citizens as the ancient Ikoyi community is known for peace, tranquillity and hard work.

In his welcome address, the Chairman, Isokan South Local Council Development area of the state, Prince Wasiu Oyelami Oyetunji, also lauded Governor Oyetola for the establishment of the Magistrate Court in his council area.

The Chairman said that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the governor was still working assiduously towards the uplift and betterment of the citizenry.

The Isokan South LCDA boss, who enjoined residents of his council area to always relate with the law enforcement agency in the area in case of any breaking of law and order, warned them not to take the law into their hands.

In his goodwill message, the Asiwaju of Ikoyi land, Dr Hamid Kola Raheem, congratulated the Olukoyi of Ikoyi land, the Olukoyi in Council, the Council Chairman and entire residents of Ikoyi community on witnessing such development by the incumbent administration in the state.

Dr Raheem, however, assured Governor Oyetola of their unflinching and unalloyed support to his administration while admonishing the governor to always remember the Ikoyi community when it comes to sharing of dividends of democracy.

While commissioning the Magistrate Court, the State Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo, congratulated the entire people of Ikoyi community on the development, admonishing them to continue to maintain the building.

The Chief Judge who described Magistrate Court as the one that was closest to the people said, continuous maintenance of the court by the community would lead to provision of more projects from the government most especially establishment of the high court.

Justice Ojo said that the state judiciary would continue to ensure that dispensation of justice was done with fairness and objectivity while he commended members of the judiciary for their robust services to the society.
