The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has expressed deep sorrows over the demise of two esteemed Senior Police Officers, retired AIG Philip Sule Maku and CP Abdulwaheed Ayilara.
In a statement Force Public Relations Officer, Force ⁹Headquarters, Abuja ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said AIG Philip Sule Maku, who served as Commissioner of Police in Bauchi and Ebonyi States before retiring as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at Force Headquarters on December 12, 2021, passed on August 23, 2024.
CP Abdulwaheed Ayilara, known for his distinguished service including his role as Deputy Commissioner of Police at the State Criminal Investigations Department in Lagos State, and as Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State, died after a brief illness on August 28, 2024.
The IGP highlighted the unwavering dedication and integrity of the late officers, noting their significant contributions to the Nigeria Police Force and the nation.
Their loss is deeply felt by their families, colleagues, and all who were impacted by their careers.
On behalf of the Nigeria Police Force, the IGP extends heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of AIG Maku and CP Ayilara, offering prayers for comfort during this difficult time. May their souls rest in peace.
