The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s (NPF) commitment to continuous specialized training, particularly in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), to enhance public safety.

In a statement, Force Public Relations Officer Force Headquarters, Abuja ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said this was demonstrated by the successful completion of the fourth Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) Training of Trainers course, held from March 3rd to 7th, 2025.

Conducted by the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) in partnership with the British High Commission (BHC) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the training equipped NPF-EOD personnel with advanced skills to train others and implement life-saving safety measures in at-risk communities.

The closing ceremony, held at the Peacekeeping Lecture Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja, was attended by senior officials, including the IGP’s representative, CP Patrick Atayero, Commissioner of Police EOD-CBRN, alongside representatives from the BHC, the Embassy of Japan, JICA, the Embassy of France, the German Technical Advisory Group, and the National Mine Action Center (NMAC).
