Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, says he has no preferred presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, but will not support the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The singer disclosed this during an interview on News Central TV on Tuesday.

Responding to questions about political endorsements and his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s declaration of support for President Bola Tinubu, Davido said his personal political convictions remain independent.

“My uncle, immediately he won, came out to declare his support for Tinubu, but for me, I’m not propelled to support anybody. I personally haven’t seen anybody,” he stated.
The singer stressed that while his stance could change, one party is off the table.
“Right now I don’t have a presidential candidate. It might change, but it’s not going to be APC. Everybody should have their choice,” Davido added.
—Recalling Past Political Engagements—
Davido recalled that he had previously backed opposition figures and cross-party alliances.
“In the past, yes, I’ve supported Atiku before when we were in PDP, and I supported in 2015 when APC first did the merger; my late uncle Isiaka Adeleke, Serubawon, was part of the APC, I campaigned then,” he said.
His latest comments come amid heightened public attention following his prominent role during the Osun State governorship election cycle, where he mobilised voters and advocated for transparent election results.
