I have no political ambition; DG NPC, Kashim Akor says

The Director General, National Productivity Centre, NPC, Dr Kashim Akor has assured the political class from kogi state that his community service has no correlation with political ambition.

Dr Kashim Akor bared his mind during the Award of excellence confered on him by Ankpa Elders Forum on Tuesday at the palace of Ejeh of Ankpa for the provision infrastructure, employment, empowerment and curbing security threats in the area, through donation of electricity transformers and solar street lights to the community and it’s environs.

He warned the political class that the beauty of the people’s choice was the dividends of democracy, through rendering of stewardship.

“What I’m doing has no political undertone, but to challenge the political class from too to bottom on the desire of the common men on the streets who gave them the mandates.

“I want to revive best practices in our polity as it was obtainable in the previous years, that required rendering of stewardship to the electorates, and not the other way round.

“My passion to contribute my quota to the development of Ankpa town is unwavering, so with the dint of my hardwork and the grace of God, formed the basis of my communal services,” he said.

The Director General, National Productivity Centre advised the political class not to have sleepless nights over his overtures, but to join hands with him to take Ankpa town and its environs to greater heights.

“I want to see the old Ankpa were I have worked through the nooks and crannies of the streets, back to the good old days, interms of both human and economic security rather the other way round.”

Dr Akor asked the political class to collaborate with him in his strides to take not only Ankpa but Igala land to greater heights, to the envy of all and sundry.

The Director General maintained that the honour was an opportunity for him to do more to the community and the entire igala race, saying he would desire their collective efforts and cooperation to sustain the current efforts.

He thanked the Ankpa think tank for considering him worthy of honour, promising not to let them down now and forever.

Earlier, The Chairman, Ankpa Elders Forum, Dr Egene Adah said the award came to Dr Akor who had distinguished himself in the area of human and infrastructure developement of the area.

He said the Director General was carefully selected considering his determination, dedication and commitment to the development of Ankpa town and its environs, with the installation of high-powered solar street lights, provision of electricity transformers that had addressed insecurity in the area and skill development, acquisition, capacity building that triggered small scale businesses.
