A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Minister of Police Affairs, Humphrey Abah, has hailed the party for restoring Nigeria’s pride and glory after years of military rule.

Recall that PDP was in power from 1999 to 2015.

Abah noted that the PDP’s emergence in 1999 marked a significant turning point in the country’s history, ending years of military dictatorship and ushering in a new era of democratic governance.

Under the leadership of President Olusegun Obasanjo, the PDP government, he said, worked tirelessly to rebuild the country’s image and reputation.

Abah highlighted the party’s efforts to create an enabling environment for foreign investors, which led to a surge in business and tourism.

According to him, “the country’s image got a big boost, and foreign investors trooped in to transact business and engage in mutually beneficial ventures.

“The PDP government’s economic reforms and diplomatic efforts paid off, as Nigeria received debt relief and cancellation.

“The party’s leadership demonstrated a commitment to transparency and accountability, which helped to restore confidence in the country’s economy.”

As Nigeria approaches a new era of politics, Abah, in a statement, called on all Nigerians to rally behind a new PDP, reunite, and rebuild the country.

He emphasised that the PDP was rebuilding, reshaping, and repositioning for a Nigeria where peace, harmony, unity, love, and prosperity would reign. He appealed to Nigerians to massively support the party again ahead of 2027 general elections.

Abah’s call to action is a reminder of the party’s legacy and its commitment to creating a better future for all Nigerians.

He said: “The PDP’s legacy of hope and progress remains a powerful symbol of what the party can achieve.

“As the party continues to rebuild and reposition, it is clear that the PDP’s commitment to Nigeria’s development and prosperity remains unwavering.”
