More facts have emerged on how a popular actor, Gbenga Akintunde, aka Burger, died. Burger, an active member of The Golden Movie Ambassador (TGMA), headed by Saidi Balogun, was reported to have died after a brief illness in a Lagos hospital.
Findings disclosed that Burger might have died as a result of complications from high blood pressure as against malaria that many people claimed.
Burger had confided in a colleague that he was worried about his high blood pressure and was always seen with an automatic blood pressure monitor kit and never joked with his health.
“I am always monitoring my blood pressure. I don’t go through any rigorous exercise so as not to aggravate the problem. I hope to overcome this problem soon by the grace of God,” Burger had reportedly told a colleague.
The disclosure came about five years after his death in 2019, according to another source who said Burger was his close friend at the University of Lagos. He said: “He [Burger] told me he was diabetic and that he was depending on drugs everyday.”
