How Anenih’s son, Oseyili and his friend, Ariyo Atoye were first responders at scene of accident that killed one Ambrose Alli University Law graduate, injured three others

▪Accident happened four days after signing out

Activist, Ariyo Atoye, who is a friend to Oseyili, son of the late Iyasele of Esanland, Chief Tony Anenih, described the accident as unfortunate.

He also described the driver of the Sport Utility Vehicle that rammed into the car in which the accident victims were driving as stupid.

He reportedy caused the accident while trying to overtake another vehicle.

The SUV, as indicated in the number plate, belongs to a native doctor, Chief (Prof) R. Okoloise 1 JP.

Uyi, who reportedly died on the spot of the accident surprising did not have external injuries, but he sat in the side of the car that received the impact of the collision by the SUV.

The others, who sustained varying degrees of injuries in the accident that happened on the Old Nova Road, Uromi, at 3 pm, were all evacuated to the hospital by Oseyili Anenih and Ariyo Atoye.

The development has reportedly caused anguish in the University community of Ekpoma.

The loss of Uyi, four days after signing out of the university as a fresh graduate, is painful, according to a witness.

The report of Uyi’s death read:

“SAD NEWS: Final year AAU Ekpoma Student Dies Four Days after Final Exams

“Five years wasted as accident claims the life of a young graduate from Ambrose Alli University.

“A Law Student identified as Uyi, who graduated about 4 days ago from the Faculty of Law in Ambrose Alli University has lost his life in an accident along (sic) Irrua-Uromi road.

“The private car with four Law graduates including the daughter of Hon Edionwele, which was said to be heading to Ekpoma from Uromi had an accident this evening along (sic) Irrua road.

“The three other graduates including Hon Edionwele’s daughter who also graduated last Saturday have been rushed to the hospital.”

Ariyo Atoye confirmed to THE CONCLAVE that he and his friend, Ose Anenih with some good Samaritans evacuated the victims from the accident scene and rushed them to Irua Specialist Hospital.

He said they had to stay in the hospital to ensure that the victims were properly attended to after they were admitted in the hospital.

He said for precious human lives, they did not think twice to forgo the programme they were scheduled to attend at Ekpoma.

Ariyo Atoye mourned the dead Law graduate even as he prayed for the speedy recovery of his (the late Uyi’s) injured colleagues.
