Gunmen have killed a family of five in Lighitlubang village in Bungha District of Mangu Local Government Area, Plateau State.
The community has been thrown into mourning following the killing.
The victims, comprising a man, his wife, their child, and another couple, were reportedly slaughtered during the attack.
Tension remained high in the area as of press time as the gunmen extended their onslaught to other parts of the local government.
A source was reported in the media to have said that “From Monday, January 27 till this Saturday, February 1st, no fewer than 10 people were cruelly murdered by the same suspected militia. It was confirmed by the police who witnessed the attacks in Mangu.”
Residents, according to reports, have appealed for increased security to protect the community from further violence.
