A member representing Nguroje Constituency in the Taraba House of Assembly, Barr. Bashir Mohammed, has been kidnapped.
The lawmaker was reportedly kidnapped from his house behind SSS office area of Jalingo at about 1. 30. am Wednesday by no fewer than ten gunmen.
They reportedly shot sporadically for over 45 minutes before kidnapping the lawmaker.
None of the family members was hurt, according to snippets that filtered on from the scene of the incident.
The kidnappers was said to have forced the lawmaker into one of the two vehicles in which they came.
Barr. Bashir Mohammed, a member representing Nguroje Constituency, is also the Chair of House Committee on Information in the Taraba state House of Assembly.
Spokesperson of the Taraba police command, DSP David Misal had yet to formally react to the development as of the time of publishing this report.
