Gunmen have kidnapped the Benue State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Ekpe Ogbu.
Reports said that the commissioner was abducted at Adankari Junction on the Otukpo-Ado Road about 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Confirming the incident, the adviser on security matters to Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, Col Paul Hemba (Retd), said Ogbu was kidnapped while travelling on the highway.
Hemba stated that the Hilux van the victim was travelling in had been recovered by the police in the Otukpo area of Benue State.
The governor’s aide added that efforts were ongoing to rescue the commissioner.
