A 52-year-old Turkish national, Erdogan Guler, and one other yet-to-be-identified man have been abducted by three gunmen in the Kubwa area of Abuja.
Reports said that the incident happened around 7pm on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, and was reported to the Byazhin Police Division in Abuja.
A police source reportedly confirmed the incident to THE PUNCH
The source was quoted to have said: “A furniture maker, Babagana Usman, reported that around 7pm on Wednesday, May 3, three gunmen in a Toyota Prado SUV, whose registration number has yet to be known, abducted his foreign partner, Erdogan Guler, 52-year-old male, who is a Turkish national, alongside one other person whose name and address have yet to be known, at his (Guler’s) premises on Leaner Estate, Brickcity, Kubwa.”
The source noted that the abductors could be working with an informant privy to Guler’s whereabouts.
“However, the anti-kidnapping arm of the SCID is investigating the incident and efforts are being made by the police to rescue the victims and arrest the hoodlums,” the source added.
When contacted on the incident, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said she was out of the country.
“And I have yet to be briefed on such, but I’ll find out and get back to you,” Adeh said.
