Suspected gunmen have abducted a General Overseer and one other pastor from their residence in Yola, the Adamawa State’s capital.
The General Overseer of the Freedom Power Chapel, Rev. Mike Ochigbo, was abducted with another pastor of the church, John Moses, sources close to the victims said.
The sources indicated that the two clerics were attacked at Rev Ochigbo’s residence in the Nyibango area of Yola and whisked away by the gunmen.
The State’s Police Command, SP Suleimam Nguroje, who confirmed the incident, said Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, has deployed operatives from relevant departments in the Command to comb all hideouts around the state to round up the abductors and free the victims.
“The police operatives will execute a tactical day and night operation on criminal hideouts and black spots around the state to rescue the victims,” Nguroje disclosed. (The Nation)
