Concerned Edo Citizens Forum (CECF) has called on security agencies to release Comrade Kola Edokpayi and VeryDarkMan

Rising front a meeting held in Benin City on Sunday where it reviewed the state of nation, the group alluded to the arrest of Benin-based activist, Comrade Kola Edokpayi and VeryDarkMan, VDM, calling for the release forthwith of the activists.
In a release signed by Comrade Roy Oribhabor, convener, Concerned Edo Citizens Forum said there was urgent need for the state security to immediately release Edokpayi, arrested in Benin and VDM, whose arrest was made in Abuja on Friday.
“We note with serious concerns the harassment, intimidation, and the subsequent arrest of our two prominent activists, Comrade kola Edopaiye and Very Dark Man.
“We call on the security agents to immediately release our dear sons, who have, over the years, demonstrated great love for Nigeria and Nigerians for better society.
“These are personalities who have devoted their time, energy, and resources to agitate for egalitarian society through advocacy. Therefore, we are seriously bothered by this development, decision to incarcerate them via demonic shenanigans and unholy gimmick to undermine their efforts to make society a better place.
“We hereby call on prominent men and women of goodwill to intervene and also, the executive Governor of Edo State, to use his contacts to release our dear sons accordingly.
“Edo people have been very critical about Nigeria’s development and wellbeing; it’s on records that Chief Anthony Enahoro, the man who moved a motion for independence was from Edo State and, therefore, activism has been rooted in Edo State over the years.
“VeryDarkMan and Kola Edokpaiye are only exhibiting their fundamental human rights to agitate for the commoners and downtrodden in the society.
“Finally, we demand their immediate release without further delay.
“Concerned Edo Citizens Forum will mobilize all our teeming supporters to ensure they regain their freedom through reaching out mechanism and mass mobilization policies,” said the release.
