Gov Ortom declares Thursdays and Fridays work-free days for civil servants

Beginning from today, Thursday, June 17, till the end of July, 2021, Benue state government has declared Thursday and Friday work-free days for civil servants.

Benue State Governor, Dr Samuel Ortom, according to a circular, signed by a Permanent Secretary, Sir Samuel I. Udeh, had given the necessary approval.

The decision, as reported, was to enable civil servants engage in farming and other agricultural activities.

The circular, however, said that those on essential services were exempted from the work-free days.

The Thursday and Friday breaks have reportedly become an annual tradition in recent years in the state.
