Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has claimed that the entire Edo State governorship election was marred by irregularities facilitated by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Campaign Council for Edo poll slammed some officials of INEC, pointing the finger at them as saboteurs.
He said they sabotaged the electoral system, thus making it difficult for APC votes to count.
Uzodinma, however, commended the governorship candidate of the APC in Edo, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, for his resilience and doggedness.
The governor in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Oguwike Nwachuku, on Monday, further described the conduct of INEC officials in the Edo governorship election as ‘shameful’.
The governor, therefore, urged APC faithful and party supporters to remain calm and law-abiding, saying that what happened in Edo State was sabotage to Nigeria’s hard-worn democracy.
