The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division, Nigerian Army (NA), Major General Jamal Abdussalam, emphasized the importance of complementing operational successes with robust administration and welfare during the commissioning of a 68-room Soldiers Transit Accommodation at 3 Battalion, Effurun Barracks, Warri, Delta State, on September 10, 2024.
Major General Abdussalam highlighted the significance of quality leadership and unity of purpose in achieving substantial goals, noting that the new accommodation addresses critical housing needs for troops. He stressed that this development aligns with the command philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja.

The GOC acknowledged the role of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and commended Tantita Security Services Limited (TSSL) for their substantial contributions to the project. He noted that the collaboration between the Nigerian Army and TSSL exemplifies a strong bond that extends beyond operational synergy, fostering camaraderie and goodwill.
Reassuring the public, Major General Abdussalam stated that the 6 Division will continue to protect critical national infrastructure, ensuring increased oil production in the region. He also addressed ongoing operations related to the Okuoma incident, stressing that efforts will persist until the recovery of stolen arms. He urged soldiers to maintain the new facility and praised the Commander of 63 Brigade and the Commanding Officers for their achievements.

Brigadier General Unachukwu, Commander of 63 Brigade, credited the operational and administrative strides of the Brigade to the guidance and support of Major General Abdussalam. He explained that the new accommodation, transformed from the old Army Day Secondary School, addresses the Brigade’s accommodation challenges, providing temporary shelter for unaccommodated soldiers and a transit camp for troops.
Captain Warredi Enisouh, Executive Director of Operations and Technical at TSSL, expressed gratitude for the partnership with the Nigerian Army, reaffirming the company’s commitment to the project. He emphasized that this initiative marks the beginning of a strengthened relationship between TSSL and the NA, contributing to the region’s development and national security.

The newly commissioned facility includes 68 rooms, 18 bathrooms, and three central kitchens, equipped to accommodate at least 140 soldiers. The internal space also supports training and other activities, enhancing the welfare of troops stationed at the barracks.
