Damola Ogunmodede (not real name), an Ibadan-based man, has accused Gbenga Eyiolawi, the CEO of Titan Farms, an agricultural development company, of going silent after he invested in his company.

This is not the first time such a news story about Titan Farms and Eyiolawi will be made public. FIJ has published several stories on the company either reneging on its promise or leaving its investors stranded by cutting communication ties with them.

Ogunmodede told FIJ he invested N400,000 and N500,000 with Titan Farms in July and August 2021, respectively, and was expecting a 25 per cent return on investment, as the company had claimed, but never got his money back.

He said he trusted the company before investing with them because in the past, when he invested with them, he got his money back.

“After three months, I did not get my money, nor did I hear from the company. I waited for two months to give them enough time to fight whatever difficulty they might be facing,” Ogunmodede told FIJ.

Ogunmodede said that during his waiting period, he found that other investors had also not received their money and were expressing their grievances on the company’s Instagram page.

“Then I noticed they started deleting people’s comments on their Instagram page. Once you make a complaint about them not paying, they’ll delete your comment,” he said.

In trying to recover his money, he said Titan Farms asked him to get plots of land in exchange for his money, but he refused because he no longer trusted the company.

Ogunmodede also accused Eyiolawi, the CEO, of being silent on a group he used to communicate with investors before. He’s been silent for two months.

“He paid a mediator to mediate between us. Two months ago, the mediator told me he was looking for ways to track Eyiolawi because he was not sure he was in the country, and he had gone incommunicado,” said Ogunmodede.

When FIJ called Titan Farms, the company’s line did not connect. The company had also not responded as of press time.
