The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gada local government of Sokoto State, has described as false report of mass defection of its members to African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The party, however, reaffirmed its loyalty to APC at all levels.
This was contained in a statement signed by Gada local government area chairman, Alhaji Zayyanu Barau and issued to the newsmen on Tuesday in Sokoto.
Barau described the report as malicious, baseless and misleading stressing that there was no mass defection of APC members to the ADC in the area.
He said that the claim was nothing more than cheap propaganda, orchestrated to misinform the public and create a false sense of political instability.
He added that APC remains stable, united, with unwavering loyalty to the state and national party’s leaderships as well as Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and Sen. Aliyu Wamakko in Sokoto state.

The Council chairman urged people of Gada area to continue demonstrating their unshakable confidence and trust in the APC.
“Our bond with the grassroots remains firm, built on integrity, service delivery and an enduring commitment to the welfare and development of our people,’’ he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a leading figure in the opposition coalition, Sen. Abubakar Gada, on Aug. 24 said he received dozens of APC defectors into ADC in the Gada local government area.
Gada said that he joined the ADC to rescue the nation from the many challenges plaguing it, alleging that eastern senatorial district of Sokoto was faced with troubling security challenges that has adversely affected agriculture activities, increasing poverty, joblessness and hunger among others.
