FULL LIST: Badejo-Okusanya, others emerge winners in 2026 NBA election

The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association has released the full results of the association’s 2026 national election, with Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mrs Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, emerging as the 33rd President of the NBA.

The Conclave had earlier reported that Badejo-Okusanya defeated two fellow Senior Advocates to become the second woman to lead the association and the first woman elected to the office.

The Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association, Aham Ejelam (SAN), announced the results on Sunday at the NBA National Secretariat in Abuja.

According to the electoral committee, Badejo-Okusanya secured 12,317 votes, representing 47.18 per cent of the total votes cast, ahead of Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe (SAN), who polled 7,934 votes (30.39 per cent), while Olumuyiwa Akinboro (SAN) garnered 5,855 votes (22.43 per cent).

The committee said 26,184 lawyers voted in the election out of 82,172 eligible voters, representing a turnout of 31.86 per cent.

Other national officers also emerged across the various positions contested.

The newly elected officers will steer the affairs of the association for the 2026–2028 administration. Badejo-Okusanya succeeds Mazi Afam Osigwe (SAN) as the NBA’s 33rd president.
