Scores of commuters were stranded while motorists in some parts of Lagos State groaned in pain on Monday as fuel scarcity resurfaced in the state.
It was gathered that filling stations that opened for sale within the commercial hub were characterised with long queues of vehicles.
It was learnt that many filling stations in the state were out of fuel.
The scarcity, which started a few days ago, got worse between Sunday and Monday morning, forcing motorists to spend hours at filling stations while many passengers were stranded.
The cause of the fuel scarcity could not be ascertained as of press time but it was learnt that it was due to supply disruption to Independent marketers in Lagos State.
The Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) is yet to explain the cause of the scarcity which was earlier witnessed in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
