Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has approved a ₦100,000 Christmas bonus for civil servants, public servants, and pensioners in the state to enhance their celebrations during the festive season.
In a statement issued by the Head of Civil Service, Rivers State, George Nwaeke, the bonus would be disbursed to employees across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) as well as pensioners in both the civil and public service sectors.
“His Excellency, who gave this approval on Monday, December 23, 2024, has directed its immediate implementation to ensure that workers and pensioners enjoy a fulfilling yuletide celebration,” Nwaeke stated.
This marks the second time under Governor Fubara’s administration that civil servants have received a ₦100,000 Christmas bonus, an amount exceeding the national minimum wage. For the first time, pensioners have also been included in this initiative.
Nwaeke emphasized that the Christmas bonus is part of Governor Fubara’s “Rivers First” agenda, which prioritizes the welfare and happiness of Rivers State residents across various sectors of the economy.
The gesture underscores the Governor’s commitment to fostering prosperity and well-being during this festive season and beyond.
