The Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) and the Office of the Auditor General for the Federation have reaffirmed their commitment to support each other in helping the federal government to plug wasteges in government agencies.

According to a statement by  FRC Head of  Strategic Comminications, Bede Anyanwu, on Monday, the two agencies would continue to use the instruments of their offices to assist in improving checks on fiscal regulations and discouraging compliance by government agencies’ inadequate remittances and poor implementation of projects.

This  position was made known during a courtesy visit by the Management of Fiscal Responsibility Commission led by its Chairman, Barrister Victor Muruako to the Auditor General for the Federation, Mr Ughu Adulphus in Abuja.

The FRC Chairman who congratulated Mr Aghughu on his recent appointment by the President, pleaded with the office of the Auditor General to take cognisance of the template for the calculation of operating surplus in the course of carrying out its audit functions on Ministries, Directorates and Agencies.

The Auditor General thanked his guests, assuring them that the two sister agencies belonged to the public finance management family and were working for the same general purpose of enthroning prudence, accountability and value-for- money in government operations.

He affirmed his commitment to the war against corruption and the measures put in place to improve the compliance of Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government as well as government-owned businesses to extant rules and regulations.
