Former World Heavyweight boxing  champion Anthony Joshua was involved in a road crash in the Makun area of Ogun State.

Reports said that the accident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Monday, December 29, 2025.

Witnesses and first responders at the scene told reporters that the vehicle conveying the boxer collided with another car under circumstances that remained unclear as of press time.

Two persons were confirmed dead at the scene, while Joshua reportedly sustained minor injuries and received immediate attention from rescuers.

A witness who participated in the rescue operation told newsmen that emergency teams worked quickly to evacuate the injured.

The identities of the deceased have yet to be released.

Traffic officials and police officers were said to have cordoned off the crash site as investigations into the cause of the collision continued.

Officers from the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency were said to be at the scene.
