A former Editor-in-Chief of The Tribune Titles, Sir Folu Olamiti has lost his senior sister, Chief Mrs. Christie Oluwakaikun Adebamiwa nee Olamiti of the Olamiti family of Idanre in Ondo State.
Chief Mrs. Adebamiwa passed on at the age of 83 after a prolonged sickness at Ibadan the Oyo State Capital on Friday 18th October 2024.
Her younger brother, a Publisher; Media Consultant; CEO Newspot, an Online News Media and Media Director in the office of the Primate of the Anglican Communion in Nigeria, Sir Folu Olamiti confirmed her death in a statement on Saturday 19th October 2024.
Chief Mrs Adebamiwa’s husband, Venerable Joshua Adediran Adebamiwa had passed on to eternity last February 26.
The late Mrs. Adebamiwa was an educationist who served as Principal in several secondary schools in Ile-Ife and Osogbo which includes Ooni Girls High School, Ile-Ife; Ife Girls High School; Ife City College and Baptist Girls’ High School, Oshogbo.
The late Venerables’ wife on retirement went into full ministry becoming a Lay Reader (the Highest a woman can attain in the Anglican fold) at St. Peters’ Church, Ede where she was also the ‘Iya Ijo’ of the church.
The Family is yet to announce burial formalities of the mother of six children and many grandchildren.
