Former President Goodluck Jonathan joined the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, and other dignitaries on Saturday for the funeral service of the late Paramount Ruler of Ayakoro Community, His Royal Highness Righteous Inegbagha, in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

Dr. Jonathan described the deceased monarch as a man whose name aptly reflected his character, praising him for living a truly righteous life that brought significant development and progress to the community during his reign.
The former president said that HRH Inegbagha was not only a respected traditional leader but also a personal friend and senior colleague from their days as students at Martha Dei High School in Immiringi.
He expressed appreciation to attendees for honoring the late ruler’s memory.
In his own tribute, Dr. Ogbuku hailed the monarch as an embodiment of righteousness, noting that the enduring peace in Ayakoro Community stood as a testament to his leadership.
Quoting the biblical verse, “When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices,” the NDDC chief executive described the event as a celebration of a fulfilled and impactful life.
He called on traditional rulers in the Niger Delta to emulate the late king’s virtues by fostering peace and unity, emphasizing that sustainable development thrives only in harmonious environments.
Dr. Ogbuku highlighted the community’s unity and developmental achievements as evidence of the monarch’s humble, team-oriented, and love-driven governance style.
He expressed confidence in Ayakoro’s future, stating that the strong foundation laid by HRH Inegbagha would guide emerging leaders to build on his legacy.
