A former member of the House of Representatives during the second republic, and outspoken politician, Dr Junaid Mohammed, is dead.
He was aged 73.
His brother, Dr Ahmed Salik, a former lecturer with the Bayero University, Kano, confirmed his death on Thursday evening.
Also, the deceased son, Suleiman, confirmed the death, saying Junaid died on Thursday night at the age of 73 after a brief illness which lasted for three days.
The late Junaid, a Soviet-trained Medical Doctor, died in his residence in Kano.
His burial will be announced by the family.
Minister of Investment and trade, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo and other sympathizers have, according to media reports, visited the house of the deceased located at No. 60 Lamido crescent, Kano to sympathize with the family.
