A former House of Representatives aspirant in Imo State, Mr. Peter Obialo, has reportedly gone into hiding following threats to his life after being accused of bisexual conduct by his wife and her family.
Obialo, an Abuja-based businessman, is the CEO of P-Iyke Oil Limited.
In 2017, Obialo, who already had two children from a previous relationship, had a lavish wedding with Helen.
For a few years after the wedding, everything appeared well for the couple until the wife allegedly caught Obialo in a “compromising situation” with one of his male companions in 2023.
Reports said that the wife, who had suspected her husband’s sexual orientation following rumours that he was bisexual and that the wedding was only a smokescreen, was left devastated.
The couple got engaged and got married just two months after they met.
Mrs. Obialo was said to have confided in close friends and family members that her husband suddenly became distant, frequently avoiding intimacy, citing work stress and exhaustion.
The lack of marital connection, she claimed, contributed to her inability to conceive.

The wife was said to have confronted Obialo, who reportedly pleaded for forgiveness and yet refused to change. She thereafter decided to inform her family.
What followed was a storm of threats and outrage by her family, claiming Obialo deceived, betrayed, and humiliated their daughter.
The family, as learnt, planned to report the matter to the police and also invite him to a larger family meeting for further discussion and interrogation with the inlaws still threatening fire and brimstone for wasting six precious years of their daughter’s life by not dosclosing his alleged bisexual lifestyle to her.
Under Nigerian law, same-sex activity is a criminal offence, and anyone found guilty was liable to 14 years imprisonment.
Fearing for his safety, Obialo is said to have fled the country to either the United States or Canada despite filing for a divorce.
