Minister of State for Finance, Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, has called on subnational governments to invest in infrastructure development in the rural areas to reduce post-harvest losses and ensure food security.

Agba made the call on Thursday, in Abuja, while declaring open the National Sensitization Workshop on Implementation of the UN Food Systems Transformation Pathways for Nigeria.

He stressed the need to improve the nation’s product space and complexity while urging the state governments to take advantage of the Food Systems Dashboard for the country.

The minister said that the subnational governments should concentrate on areas where they had comparative advantage and move them to the next level.
