First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, has through her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) empowered 1000 petty traders including Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWD) at Karonmajigi in Abuja.
Mrs Tinubu, who was represented by Wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, said this on Saturday during the humanitarian support and empowerment programme for petty traders in Abuja.
She said empowerment support of N50,000 each would be donated to1000 women living in the community irrespective of their tribes.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that during the empowerment programme, both children and adults in Karonmajiji were seen in their numbers chanting support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu come 2027.
Mrs Tinubu commended Nigerians for their continued support for the current administration, adding that the gesture aligned with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

”In recognition of your support and to further enhance livelihoods within the community, the First Lady has earlier this week sent the following empowerment items to this community: 39 sewing machines and 13 grinding machines.
”Other items that were donated by the First Lady included 35 water pumping machines for the community, 45 hair dryers, 16 power tillers and five Keke trucks.
”In addition, I am happy to inform you that today 1,000 petty traders in Karonmajigi Community will each receive N50,000 to support and expand their existing businesses, ” she said.
Mrs Tinubu said the community and other rural areas within the FCT would see positive impacts from the government continuously.
According to her, the construction of a brand-new secondary school in the community is in progress. it’s near completion and will be commissioned soon.
”This important project will expand access to quality education and provide greater opportunities for our young people.
”We thank you for your continuous support and cooperation, and we encourage you to continue working together for the peace, progress, and development of this community and our nation,” Mrs Tinubu said.
In her remarks, the Minister of State for FCT, Dr Mariya Mahmoud, said the RHI empowerment programme was a clear demonstration of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President BolaTinubu.
The minister said the initiative aimed at prioritising the welfare, inclusion, and empowerment of all Nigerians.
”It is with immense pleasure and a deep sense of appreciation that I join distinguished guests,
community leaders, and beneficiaries at this remarkable event marking the empowerment of physically challenged persons under the leadership and compassionate vision of our dear First
Lady.
”This noble intervention reflects a strong commitment to ensuring
that persons living with disabilities are not left behind in our collective quest for national development.”
She commended Mrs Tinubu for her unwavering dedication to
humanitarian causes and her tireless efforts in promoting social inclusion, dignity, and economic empowerment for vulnerable groups across the country.
”Through initiatives such as this, countless lives are being transformed, and opportunities are
being created for individuals to realise their full potential.”
The District Head of Karonmajigi Community, Alhaji Yunusa Abdullahi, commended the President, First Lady, and their team for keeping to their promises made during the last campaign.
”This government’s action reflects in the investment in human capacity, self-reliance, and sustainable
development.
”This empowerment sends a strong message that every Nigerian, regardless of physical condition, has a valuable role to play in nation-building.
”Myself and my people shall continue to vote for Mr President Tinubu,” traditional ruler said.
He also commended the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike for the good works he was doing especially community development which he described as a symbol of humanity of the Tinubu-led administration.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Women chieftains, who thanked the First Lady for supporting women, promised that Nigerian women, including persons living with disabilities would ensure re-election of President Tinubu come 2027.
One of the benefactors, Ester Aku, appreciated the First Lady for remembering them.
She however sought for more assistance in the area of health facility and accommodation for the less privilege especially the PLWD.
