Fire has gutted Enyo filling station at the popular Ali Bothers Office Complex in Wuse Zone 2 in Abuja.
THE CONCLAVE is on ground, monitoring the incident, which happened about 7 pm.
The fire is still raging, having consumed a tanker loaded with fuel that was said to be dumping the product when a spark occurred triggering the inferno.
The fire spread to the fuel dumps causing a series of explosions.Some vehicles parked on the premises of Ali Brothers Complex were completely burnt down.
As of the time of filing this report, the Ali Brothers Office Complex had yet to be affected by the fire.
It took more than thirty minutes for the men of the fire service to respond despite the fact that the office of the service at Garki Area 10 is less than three minutes’ drive on free road to the scene of the fire.
Unfortunately for the Fire Service men, the fire was too huge for them to contend with. The truck ran out of water.
It left hurriedly.It took more than 25 minutes for a second truck to arrive.
As the truck approached, angry youth pelted it with stones, cursing the service men for their slow response.
The truck did not stop. It sped off from the attack by the angry youth.
The fire continued to rage as of press time.It is feared that it may escalate to the office Complex housing some Bureau De Change offices, Law Firms and other sundry offices.
