The leaderships of the Osun State Chapter of Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN), under the leadership of Otunba Adekunle Abolade Dodoede, have expressed sadness over the death of its National Organizing Secretary, Apostle Sunday Alakinde, who died in the early hours of Monday, 22nd March, 2021.
According to a condolence statement signed by the state’s Publicity Secretary of the association, Mukhtar Ajelogbon, Osun FIBAN expressed shock over the news of Alakinde’s demise.
He commiserated with the family of the deceased and the management of Uniq 103.1FM, Ilesa.
The statement quoted him to have said that it would pretty difficult to fill the vacuum created by the demise of the scribe.
Alakinde died in a car accident along Ilesa express way around 3 O’clock in the morning while coming along Ijebujesa express way to resume duty at Uniq FM.
He was a devoted Christian and committed media progessional who contributed his quota in his life and times, while he would be remembered for his accomplishments in various aspects of life.
Until his death, Alakinde worked in the News and Current affairs Department of Uniq FM, and was former Organizing Secretary of the Osun State FIBAN before rising to the national office.
Osun FIBAN prayed that God would ease “the tension of Alakinde’s grave” and grant him eternal rest.
