FG secures release of six Nigerians detained in Côte d’Ivoire

The Federal Government has secured the release of six Nigerians who were detained in Côte d’Ivoire following diplomatic intervention by the Nigerian Embassy in Abidjan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement on Thursday, June 26, 2026, commended the Nigerian Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire, Nwabiola C. Ezenwa, and embassy officials for their role in resolving the matter.

“The Ministry commends the Ambassador of Nigeria to Côte d’Ivoire, His Excellency Ambassador Nwabiola C. Ezenwa, and the entire staff of the Embassy for their steadfast commitment, professionalism and tireless diplomatic efforts which culminated in the successful resolution of the matter,” the statement said.
