The federal government has approved the recruitment of 30,000 youths into the Nigeria Police Force to strengthen security and close the manpower gap in the force.
This was confirmed by Senator Ahmad Abdulhamid Malam Madori, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, in.s chat with journalists in Abuja.
He said the Police Service Commission had been authorised to begin the recruitment process immediately.
Senator Madori, who represents Jigawa North East, explained that the yearly recruitment plan was approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as part of ongoing efforts to improve policing across the country.
“The President has directed that 30,000 young Nigerians be recruited this year, and this process will continue annually to ensure the force meets its personnel needs,” Madori said.
He advised Nigerians to watch out for official announcements of the recruitment exercise in national newspapers and to avoid falling prey to fraudsters
The move comes amid increasing concerns over insecurity in various parts of the country and persistent calls for improved police presence in rural and urban areas.
