The Federal High Court has accredited only 10 journalists to cover the trial of leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPoB, Nnamdi Kanu.
A copy of the circular signed by the Chief Information Officer, Catherine Oby Christopher listed the ten accredited media organisations to include: Herald, NTA, NAN, Channels, AIT, The Nation, Premium Times, Daily Independent, This Day and TVC.
No reasons were given for the decision.
But there were suggestions that it could have been informed by the need to enforce the COVID-19 safety protocols and as part of security measures in and around the court premises.
