
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) said the ongoing protests-#EndSARS- were endangering the life of everyone in Abuja.
Consequently, the Security Committee of the FCTA has placed a ban on protests in the capital city fir safety fears.
In a statement released by the FCT Administration on Thursday, October 15, 2020, the security committee decided at its October 13 meeting that the protests were in violation of safety rules.
The committee claimed that the peaceful protesters had been behaving in an unruly manner, and thereby causing inconveniences to others in the capital city.

The committee also claimed that the protesters had failed to comply with COVID-19 guidelines, regulating public gatherings.
The committee’s meeting, presided over by FCT Minister, Mohammed Bello, resolved that “the ongoing protests endanger the lives of everyone in the capital city.”
The statement said that “All street demonstrations, protests, and processions will not be allowed anywhere within the FCT.”
