Auchi-born Madam Fatima Dankano has been elected first female President of United States of America- based organisation, Afenmai World Congress, an umbrella body representing various Afenmai unions in US.
The election took place during the delegate conference last night with over 20 affiliated unions represented at the event.
Mrs Dankano, a Registered Nurse and Business Woman from Auchi, before her elevation, was the Vice President.
She will succeed the outgoing Dr David lyalomhe, a Los Angeles-based Attorney at Law from Ayua-Uzairue in Etsako West LGA.
Mrs Stella Ejedawe, also a Los Angeles-based Realtor from Auchi, was the first lnterim Chairman of AWC.
Previous leaders in the saddle were Dr Osilama Osime, a Medical Doctor based in Boston from Uwanno Kingdom in Etsako East, Dr Tony Akande, a Pharmacist and Businessman based in Detroit Michigan from lgarra, Akoko Edo and Dr John Emale, Businessman and President of a Logistics outfit in Dallas-Texas from lviukhua community in Uwanno Kingdom, Etsako East LGA.
