The news about the passage of Namibia’s pioneer President, Sam Nujoma, came like any other.

Though it came on a sad note, it was, ” An Each One, Tell One Affair”, to humbly adopt the intellectual offering of the late Professor Ola Rotimi, who until his death, was Africa’s foremost scholar and teacher of Theatre Arts.

Professor Ola Rotimi’s book, “Hope’s Of The Living Dead”, in a going type of way, may well describe the brand of struggles that late pioneer President of Independent Namibia, His Excellency, Sam Nujoma of blessed memory and his fellow comrades, witnessed during the struggle for Namibia’s political independence.

Luckily, for this eminent African, whose efforts, eventually paid of by way self rule in 1990, it was a wish-fulfilment for him and the class of highly disciplined, cultured and GOD-fearing co – comrades that encouraged him in the period of struggle.

The peace-loving people of Namibia, like the characters that late Professor Ola Rotimi, portrayed in his book, “Hopes Of The Living Dead”, which featured such cast as cerebral Bob-Manuel Udokwu and Columbus Iroasanya, who in 1986 were Theater & Dramatic Arts undergraduate students at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has some relevance with the experiences and lasting impressions that this amazingly unique African patriot and onetime great political leadership figure of blessed memory, had showcased .

He was a perfect example of an African leadership personality who never saw political leadership as a plank upon which to access unlimited fiscal instruments, fame , material wealth and allied economic conditions of daily existence.

Ironically, the opposite of the brilliantly inspirational virtues which, late President Sam Nujoma, as a one time real Comrade stood for , has in recent times, become a conditioned behaviour for the new brand of pseudo comrades, , activists, within and outside the establishment circles of the federal and regional civil service ecosystem.

Unfortunately, too, these pseudo comrades , now masquerading as African freedom fighters, using all avenues in the media landscape, print , broadcast and even public relations, from Cameroun, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa to all through the 54 nation -states that populate the African continent, are on a rampage.

Comrades in the calibre of late Namibian President, elder statesman and African patriot of esteemed value and divine wisdom, would be difficult to find these days.

Aside from being imbued with strong moral and ethical values, shaped by equally formidable primary and secondary socialization-processes, not given to living loose lifestyles of risky sexual behavioural traits without boundaries , like most African self-styled comrades of this generation, have found themselves deeply conditioned to, late Sam Nujoma, was a bundle of excellence .

He displayed positively oriented character traits that every African or any global citizen, would want to model.

As the entire world, mark the passage of this one-time urbane personality of all seasons, whose positively- inspiring personality traits, ethos, values and norms, are rare in terms of behaviour – modification experiences , encouraging behaviour – compliance, let us internalise the brilliantly intelligent sides of this one time noble character and exemplary leader.

At 95, late Namibian pioneer President, lived a life, worthy of emulation and commendation.

Sam Nujoma, who gave up the ghost at the Namibian capital, Windhoek, would greatly be remembered not only by his Namibian kinsmen and women but the entire African continent and the world at large.

Late President Sam Nujoma, would most be remembered in history as a true, sincere GOD-fearing and non- amorous comrade, whose human personality development schemes, enabled him to lead the animated struggle, fighting for his people and for their independence from South Africa in 1990.

He also is credited with the success story of spearheading Namibia’s liberation movement, in the early 1960’s then, called by the acronym SWAPO.

SWAPO, refers to the South West Peoples’ Organisation.

Even after late Sam Nujoma became p
President in 1990 and governed his country up till 2005, he still was very active in offering positive guide and informed political advise to the younger generation of Namibian political leadership class.

Medical reports from the Namibian capital , Windhoek , indicated that late Sam Nujoma, was hospitalised over a brief period of time, following an clinical condition, that defiled all Interventionist solutions.

Incumbent Namibian President, His Excellency, Mr..Nangolo Mbumba, in an official statement, breakingi the news of the passage of late President Sam Nujoma , said , “” it is with utmost sorrow and sadness, that the government announces the death of our pioneer President, who was aged 95 years old ”.

President Mangolo Mbumba , further stated , “” late President Sam Najuma , inspired us to rise to our feet and to become masters of this vast land of our ancestors,”.

According to him , “” Our founding father lived a long and consequential life during which he exceptionally served the people of his beloved country.”

■ Late Sam Nujoma’s Lines Of Achievement In His Lifetime : Unification & Political Stability

Like any other political leadership worth his salt, late Sam Nujoma, recorded some good governance scorecard, which was a sign of an elected representative of the people being able to manage the gains of his electoral successes from 1990 till 2005, when he retired from active presidential governance. This was even as he continued to offer alternative advise and guided leadership to the country ‘s political party.

Simply put , late President Sam Nujoma , being a strong leader with foresight and immense wisdom, brought about peaceful – co existence as well as political stability amongst his people , shortly Namibia got its independence from South Africa, under white-minority rule, in 1990.

● Policy Of National Reconciliation :

Emboldened then, by the reality principle that the best approach towards a harmonious political interests – aggregation, a country housing an admixture of sub-populations of multi-racial and multi-ethnic demographics , of white minorities and indigenous identities, late President Sam Nujoma, initiated a very rewarding political leadership policy option.

His policy option, encouraged the reconciliation efforts aimed at bring all the divergent racial and ethnic entities together, which made the white minority groups to remain in their different geographical areas of domicility.

This political solution by this one time hero of Namibia , paid off as the country’s white community, stayed back and contributed to the overall national development index of the country, through the instrumentality of modern mechanized farming, besides making meaningful contributions to other segments of the Namibian national economy.

■ The Rights Of Women & Children : Including Institutionally Compelling Men Pay Specified Child Maintenance Allowances For Children Sociologically Labelled Illegitimate Children.

Scholars and students of Sociology as well as Social Work Education, globally , who are usually referred to as students of society, would find the policy option, officially domesticated and enshrined in the national laws of Namibia, by late President Sam Nujoma as an attractive academic research material, in view of its significance in addressing all cases of children born out wedlock in Namibia .

Essentially, the policy instrument, addresses all listed and recorded cases of children, said to have been born out of wedlock by their single mother-figures and compels the father-figures, identified and known to have been responsible for such pregnancies, proceeding the birth of such children to always provide child-maintenance allowances towards the routine upkeep of such children.

Drawing from the laudable example of the Namibian policy instrument, all Namibian single mother figures, who unlike their counterparts in Nigeria and almost all the 53 African countries, this great policy instrument legacy by late President Sam Nujoma, should be adopted by all members of the African Union as well as the Economic Communities of West African States { ECOWAS } to help offer societal dignity to the African female personality.

Before this policy instrument became law in Namibia, females or rather single- mother figures, were not only stigmatized, stereotyped, humiliated and wrongly labelled for possibly no fault of theirs but due to the resultant efforts arising from dysfunctional parenting or primary socialization processes, leading to the African male, with profound lack of moral, ethical and religious discipline, which leads to risky sexual -behavioirs, as a pathologically conditioned trait, leading to early, middle and late adulthood.

To this novel correctional behaviour , in the period of his national stewardship as the President of Namibia between 1990 to 2005 , all right thinking Africans, should salute the courage of this great personality who gave Namibian children a positive sense of belonging, denouncing any form stigmatization and wrong social labelling.

For late President Sam Nujoma of Namibia, it was a cocktail of eulogies and positive testimonials about the life and times of a true leader – comrade.

For instance, Namibia’s , in-coming President, who currently doubles as the Vice-President and President -Elect , Mr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah,who will be sworn in March 2025 , late President Sam Nujoma, “” late President Sam Nujoma’s visionary leadership and dedication to liberation and nation – building, laid a the foundation for our free , united nation””.

President William Ruto of Kenya, described late President Sam Nujoma of Namibia as having been, “” a visionary leader who dedicated his life to the liberation and development of his people””.

In the words of Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat , the Chairman of the African Union Commission {AUC} the late pioneer President of Namibia , Sam Nujoma, was , “the epitome of courage.”” “” Never wavering from his vision for a free Namibia and a United Africa”.
