A retired Deputy-Editor-in-Chief (DEIC) of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Malam Mouktar Adamu is dead.
Adamu, who was also the pioneer Editor of Peoples Daily newspaper, died on Thursday at the State House Clinic, Abuja, after a brief illness.
The funeral prayer for the deceased, held at the National Mosque, was attended by family members, colleagues and associates, including Malam Garba Shehu, former spokesperson of ex-president Muhammadu Buhari.
Also in attendance were former Senate leader, Sen. Abdul Ningi, ex-spokesperson of Debt Management Office, Nasir Mahmoud, Daily Trust Managing Editor, Malam Yusuf Zango and a host of other colleagues.
Alhaji AbdulHadi Khalil, NAN Director of Administration and Human Resources, led the agency’s delegation to the funeral at the Gudu cemetery, Abuja. (NAN)
